New York Strip Steak with Garlic Butter

New York Strip Steak with Garlic Butter

Ingredients:

2 New York strip steaks (about 12 ounces each)

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon kosher salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Lemon wedges (optional)

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Rub the steaks with olive oil and sprinkle them generously with kosher salt and black pepper.

Heat a large, oven-safe skillet over high heat until very hot. Add the steaks to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until a nice crust forms.

Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the desired level of doneness is reached.

(Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the steak: 120°F for rare, 130°F for medium-rare, 140°F for medium, 150°F for medium-well, or 160°F for well-done.)

Remove the skillet from the oven and transfer the steaks to a cutting board. Let them rest for 5 minutes.

While the steaks are resting, prepare the garlic butter by mixing the softened butter, minced garlic, and chopped parsley in a small bowl.

Slice the steaks and serve them with a dollop of garlic butter on top. Squeeze lemon wedges over the steak, if desired.

Enjoy your New York Strip Steak with Garlic Butter!
